The Disguise gx 2 Media Server is a high-performance media server built for real-time generative content and high-resolution playback in demanding show environments. The gx 2 couples the power of the pro range with the most powerful GPU, for unparalleled generative content capacity. gx 2 technology pushes responsive content to new heights and has all the output power you need and more, making it a strong fit for live events, broadcast, immersive installations, and other workflows where timing, sync, and reliable I/O matter.

High-Resolution Output and Operator Control

For multi-screen and high-pixel-count systems, the gx 2 can scale up to two 4K outputs or eight HD outputs, helping you keep complex designs crisp at full resolution. Video output includes 2x DisplayPort 1.2 (Stage) (up to 4096 x 2160 max) plus 1x DisplayPort 1.2 (GUI), separating show output from the operator interface for more efficient programming and playback control.

Video Ingest, Genlock, and Playback Formats

Integration into production pipelines is supported with 4x HD-SDI or 2x 3G-SDI video input and BNC Genlock for video sync. Playback support includes .mov (anim, pjpg, DXV, Hap, Hap Q) for video, plus still image formats (.png, .jpeg, .bmp, .tiff, .tga) and .obj 3D meshes, making it easier to accommodate mixed media content within a single project.

Audio and Physical Specifications

Audio is handled by RME Professional hardware, with supported file formats including .mp3 and .wav (44.1kHz, 16-bit, stereo). The chassis measures W 445mm x H 178mm x D 593mm (17.52" x 7" x 23.35") and weighs 16.8kg (37lbs), suitable for rack-based production and touring-style deployments where footprint and weight planning are important.
