The Elation PROTEUS HYBRID MAX is a compact, IP66-rated hybrid moving head built for high-impact outdoor and indoor use as a beam, spot, and wash fixture. It combines extreme output with long lamp life using the innovative Philips MSD Platinum FLEX 500 lamp, making it well suited for touring, festivals, permanent installations, and any application where weather protection and punchy projection matter.

Extreme output with flexible color control

Rated at 550W and up to 4,000 hours smart lamp life, the HYBRID MAX includes CMY color mixing and variable CTO for dialing in anything from saturated looks to more natural white tones. Delivering 22,000+ lumens through a large 170mm front aperture, it maintains crisp output for powerful beams, sharp gobo projection, and bright wash looks across a wide range of venues.

Projection, beam, and effects tools for show design

The PROTEUS HYBRID MAX is designed for both precision and creativity, with a comprehensive effects package that supports fast visual changes and layered looks. Four prisms on two planes, dual frosts, dual gobo wheels, and three tracks of animation patterns provide a broad palette for aerial effects and textured projection. Ultra-fast, motorized zoom (1.8° to 45°) supports tight beam work through wide coverage, while motorized focus with an auto-focus feature helps maintain image clarity.

Outdoor-ready IP66 housing

With an IP66 rating that protects from water and dirt, the fixture is built for demanding environments where traditional moving heads may require additional protection. The compact, lightweight housing also supports efficient rigging and deployment across touring and permanent systems.

Sky Motion searchlight mode (no dedicated console required)

The PROTEUS HYBRID MAX includes the innovative Sky Motion system to operate the fixture as an impactful searchlight effect without the need for a dedicated lighting controller. Multiple fixtures can be interconnected, and with the simple assignment of IDs the fixture provides immediate access to a variety of movement patterns that are easily adjustable in size, speed, and color directly from the display. Comparable in output to large format Xenon fixtures the PROTEUS HYBRID MAX operates at a fraction of the power, supports a wide range of 100-240V, has a much smaller footprint, lower weight and is fully IP66 rated. The Sky Motion system allows standalone operation for events and applications and is easy to set up and adjust directly from the display of the fixture even for "non-lighting" users and expands the usability of the fixture beyond traditional show lighting applications.
