Light Output, Color, and Control
Built around 3,456 LEDs and a wide 2600K to 6500K color temperature range, the REDBACK is designed for fast, practical tuning between warm tungsten looks and daylight-balanced setups. Dimming is adjustable from 0 to 100%, and the system supports DMX 512 control via 5-pin XLR input/output for integration into studio and stage workflows.
Modular Hudson Spider Head Design
The REDBACK head supports multiple configurations (parabolic, flat, folded, and more), making it easier to adapt a single fixture to different shooting styles, from broad, wraparound key light to more controlled, directional output. Head dimensions are 37"/95.2cm octagon x 15.5"/39.4cm in the open parabolic configuration, 50"/127cm octa x 1"/2.5cm when open flat, and 12"/30.5cm x 8"/20.3cm octa when closed. The head weighs 7lbs 4oz (3.3kg).
Power, Ballast, and Connectivity
The system runs at 24 VDC constant voltage and uses a 400W ballast with universal input voltage support of 90 to 305V AC, 50/60hz (C14 connector). Power connectors use a 7-pin bayonet locking system (IP68). Ballast protection includes over current/voltage/temperature and short circuit safeguards. Ballast IP rating is IP20, and ballast dimensions are 14"/35cm L x 5"/12.7cm H x 7"/17.8cm W, with a ballast weight of 11lbs 11oz (5.3kg). The head feeder length is 24' (7.3m). A USB Type A service port is included.
Build and Materials
Constructed from 7071+6065 aluminum with steel, copper, and silicone plastics, the REDBACK is engineered for production use while remaining manageable for on-set repositioning and rigging.
