Description
The Brompton Technology Tessera S4 LED processor is a rugged, compact 1U LED video wall processor built for large, high-resolution installs. It is designed to sit at the heart of a Tessera system, taking a single video feed and distributing it reliably across multiple LED panels for clean, consistent on-screen results.
Input and Output Capacity
The S4 provides one DVI-D input and supports resolutions up to 1920 x 1080 at 60Hz (1080p60). It supports RGB and YCbCr colour spaces, and can accept HDMI sources using a suitable adapter. Note that it provides no HDCP support, which is important when planning content playback devices.
For distribution, it features four Tessera Protocol Gigabit Ethernet outputs. Each 1G output is capable of a nominal 525K pixels at 8 bits per colour at a 60Hz frame rate, making the processor well-suited for scaling across larger LED canvases while keeping system design straightforward.
Synchronization, Latency, and Color Control
The S4 supports genlock to source, allowing processors to genlock from source right through to panel refresh, with frame rates from 23.98 to 60Hz. End-to-end system latency is 2 frames, helping maintain predictable timing for live video and IMAG-style workflows.
It retains Tessera’s quality and control with a smaller creative feature set focused on practical operation. Colour controls include per-input adjustments, global brightness and gamma, plus On Screen Colour Adjustment (OSCA) to help correct visible colour mismatches across panels.
Local Management and I/O
Local management is available through Tessera Management Software using a monitor, keyboard, and mouse connected directly to the processor. Supported monitor resolutions range from 1024x768 up to 1920x1080. The DP++ monitor output supports HDMI, DVI, and VGA using a suitable adapter.
Connectivity includes two USB 2.0 ports on the front, two USB 2.0 ports on the rear, and one DisplayPort (DP++) monitor output. Front panel controls include five status LEDs, a power LED, a Freeze button, and a Blackout button for quick on-site control.
