Brompton Tessera M2 LED Processor

Brompton Technology’s flagship HD processor, the Tessera M2 LED processor, delivers advanced creative control and precise colour management for professional LED display systems. Designed with rental and touring workflows in mind, this rugged 2U rack-mount processor combines flexible input handling with high-performance front-end processing, helping you build cleaner video signal paths and faster setups.

The M2 provides one DVI-I input and two 3G-SDI inputs, supporting a wide range of formats up to 1920 x 1080 at 60Hz (1080p60). DVI connectivity supports RGB and YCbCr colour spaces and accommodates DVI-D, DVI-A, VGA/RGBHV, and YPbPr signals. HDMI is supported with a suitable adapter (no HDCP support). For SDI workflows, the two reclocked loop-through SDI inputs support SD-SDI (SMPTE 259M-C), HD-SDI (SMPTE 292M), and 3G-SDI (SMPTE 425M-A/B) formats, and can be paired for Dual Link SDI (SMPTE 372M) for compatible 1080p signals.

With integrated front-side processing, rotation, and DMX control, the Tessera M2 can reduce the need for an external scaler or scan converter. In practice, that can lower system cost and complexity while helping keep end-to-end latency under control.

Broadcast-Quality Processing and Source Switching

The M2 includes broadcast-quality video processing such as motion-adaptive deinterlacing and clipping. Two parallel processing pipelines give you the ability to cleanly fade or snap between video sources and/or settings, which is useful for live events, rehearsals, and rapid changeovers.

Networking Outputs and Synchronization

For LED output distribution, the processor provides four 1 Gigabit Ethernet output ports, each capable of a nominal 525K pixels at 8 bits per colour at a 60Hz frame rate (10 and 12 bits per colour output are supported at reduced pixel counts). Genlock supports bi-level and tri-level sync, plus sync to source, with processors genlocking from source through to panel refresh across frame rates from 23.98 to 60Hz.

Latency, Monitoring, and Hardware Details

End-to-end system latency is specified as 3 frames with all features, or 2 frames in low-latency mode (restricted features). Hardware I/O includes two USB 2.0 ports on the front, two USB 2.0 ports on the rear, and one DisplayPort (DP++) monitor output. The front panel includes eight status LEDs and a power LED.
