Description
The LYCIAN Model 1275 SuperStar 1.2K Follow Spot is a front-of-house followspot built for precise, operator-friendly key lighting in theaters, auditoriums, houses of worship, and live event venues. Designed for a 1200-HB metal halide lamp, it can also run a 1200 HMI lamp as a substitute with reduced output, giving you flexibility when matching lamp availability to your venue’s inventory.
Optics and Focus Control
This unit employs a single lever variable focus optical system using a galvanized steel cable linkage and uses only optical grade white water plate glass lenses. In practice, the single-lever “trombone” focus makes it easy to move quickly between tight beam work and broader coverage, helping operators maintain clean edges and consistent subject tracking from the followspot position.
Gate, Shaping, and Color
The gate assembly consists of a nichrome steel heavy duty iris, paired stainless steel trim shutters, gobo slot, and a heavy duty fading shutter. A six color automatic self-canceling color boomerang is provided, enabling fast color changes without slowing down cues or requiring separate accessories.
Operator Layout and Safety
Top-mounted controls keep key adjustments within reach while operating. As a safety feature, removal of the lamp house top or loss of power renders the spotlight in the "off" mode.
