Designed with input from key industry players, the GigaCore 16RFO provides 12 x Shielded Neutrik Ethercon Gigabit ports for dependable copper connections on stage or in racks. For long runs and noise-resistant links between FOH, stage, and processing racks, it also includes 4 x slots for rugged fiber connectors, with optical connector options such as OpticalCon that can be installed at the front or rear of the unit for cleaner cable management and faster patching.

Redundancy and traffic control for show-critical systems

For uptime in mission-critical setups, full backup on the power supply is available, delivering true redundancy at power level. On the network side, built-in tools like RLinkX (link redundancy) and MultiLinkX (link aggregation) help maintain connectivity and increase link capacity, while Groups (VLAN segmentation) support cleaner separation of audio, lighting, video, and control traffic.

Optimized for pro audio, lighting, and control protocols

The switch is designed for modern entertainment networking and is compliant with a broad set of protocols, including Avnu AVB/MILAN, Dante, RAVENNA/AES67, Ethersound, Q-SYS/Q-LAN, REAC, sACN, ArtNet, MANet2, HogNet, RTTrPL (BlackTraX), and IEEE 1588 PTP V2. IGMP support (V1/V2/V3) and IGMP snooping (enabled by default) assist with efficient multicast handling in real-world show networks, and sound protocol compliance is noted for low jitter performance.

With 32Gbps switching throughput, an 8192-entry MAC address table, self-learning with auto aging, and auto-negotiation/MDI-MDIX, the GigaCore 16RFO is built to handle busy event networks without complicated setup. Management and troubleshooting are supported via the RJ45 serial console port, and features such as Profile Manager help streamline repeatable configurations across venues and tours.
