The Obsidian NX Wing is a complementary USB control surface for the Obsidian Control Systems ONYX platform, giving you a responsive, hands-on hardware workflow for lighting control on a user-provided PC. Built around the NX 2 console footprint and layout, it feels immediately familiar to ONYX users and is designed for reliable operation in production environments. No setup or additional installation is required, simply connect via USB to a PC running ONYX and start programming and playback.
Hands-On ONYX Control for Programming and Playback
NX Wing combines faders, keys, encoders, and a touchscreen to speed up everyday tasks like cue playback, parameter adjustment, and timing changes. A dedicated Master Go section (Go, Pause, Snap, Release), full command keys with a numerical keypad, and dedicated buttons (Blind, HighLight, Last, Next) support fast navigation and show operation.
Connectivity and Universes
Designed to integrate into modern lighting networks and control workflows, NX Wing provides 4 DMX/RDM universe in/out ports on 5-pin locking XLR, plus support for Art-Net, sACN, and ONYX X-Net via dual Gigabit network ports. It also includes MIDI in/out/thru and SMPTE timecode in/out for external control and synchronization. When connected to ONYX on a PC, NX Wing unlocks 64 universes of control.
