City Theatrical SHoW DMX SHoW Baby 5 is a plug-and-play wireless DMX and RDM unit designed for fast, reliable DMX distribution without running data cable. Built on SHoW DMX Neo technology, it is a practical fit for venues, touring rigs, and temporary installs that need professional wireless performance without the complexity of a larger wireless system.
Transmitter or Receiver, Automatically
The SHoW DMX SHoW Baby 5 represents a breakthrough in plug-and-play wireless DMX and RDM transmission, a single unit that can be used either as a wireless DMX Transmitter or Receiver. Set-up couldn't be simpler with SHoW DMX SHoW Baby's instant plug-and-play configuration: For a Transmitter, connect DMX IN, for a Receiver, don't.
When a DMX cable is plugged into the SHoW DMX SHoW Baby's DMX Input, the SHoW DMX SHoW Baby senses the connection and configures itself as a transmitter. If no cable is connected to the DMX Input, the SHoW Baby configures itself as a Receiver, making it easy to deploy as needed on a truss, catwalk, or backstage position.
Wireless DMX + RDM Performance
Using a 2.4GHz Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) radio, SHoW Baby 5 can wirelessly broadcast and receive a full universe of DMX (512 slots) with robust DMX512 and RDM data transmission. Extremely low 7mS latency helps keep timing tight for responsive lighting control.
It offers 5 possible SHoW IDs (including the original SHoW Baby 201) to help separate systems in multi-room or multi-rig environments, and it maintains full compatibility with previous SHoW Babys. RDM proxy and responder functions support remote device management workflows where RDM is used.
