SHoW DMX SHoW Baby 5 is a plug-and-play wireless DMX and RDM transmitter/receiver designed for venues and productions that need reliable cable-free lighting control without the complexity or cost of a full featured SHoW DMX system. Built on SHoW DMX Neo technology, it wirelessly broadcasts or receives a full DMX universe (512 slots) with extremely low 7mS latency for responsive cueing and smooth fades.

Plug-and-Play Transmitter or Receiver

The SHoW DMX SHoW Baby 5 represents a breakthrough in plug-and-play wireless DMX and RDM transmission, a single unit that can be used either as a wireless DMX Transmitter or Receiver. Set-up couldn't be simpler with SHoW DMX SHoW Baby's instant plug-and-play configuration: For a Transmitter, connect DMX IN, for a Receiver, don't.

When a DMX cable is plugged into the SHoW DMX SHoW Baby's DMX Input, the SHoW DMX SHoW Baby senses the connection and configures itself as a transmitter. If no cable is connected to the DMX Input, the SHoW Baby configures itself as a Receiver. This makes it easy to move units between FOH, truss, side stage, or remote positions as your rig changes.

Wireless Performance and System Compatibility

Using SHoW DMX Neo 2.4GHz Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) radio, the SHoW Baby 5 is built for robust wireless DMX512 and RDM data transmission. It supports 5 possible SHoW IDs (including the original SHoW Baby 201) and offers full compatibility with previous SHoW Babys, which helps you expand an existing SHoW DMX workflow or standardize on a single type of wireless node across your system.

RDM Support and Status Visibility

For RDM-capable fixtures and devices, the SHoW Baby 5 provides RDM proxy and responder functions to support common configuration and monitoring workflows. Onboard LED indicators show Tx (set as transmitter), Rx (set as receiver), and Data (data present), with color indicating SHoW ID, plus a 4-LED RF signal strength meter from low to high for quick at-a-glance troubleshooting.

Connectivity, Build, and Certifications

DMX input and output are provided via Neutrik 5P XLR connectors (DMX IN and DMX OUT). The unit features a NEMA 1 steel and ABS enclosure and includes an aluminum mounting bracket for hardware for C-Clamp or other hanging hardware. Broadcast power is 72mW ETSI. The SHoW Baby 5 is RoHS compliant, CE certified, and FCC certified.
