The Blackmagic Design HyperDeck Studio Mini is a compact SD/HD deck for recording and playback, designed for live production, broadcast, and on-set workflows where you need a reliable way to capture program feeds or play out clips. It records H.264, ProRes, or DNxHD files to SD/UHS-II cards or external USB disks, supporting SD/HD formats up to 1080p60.
Recording, Playback, and Media Options
Capture directly to SD/UHS-II media for portable recording, or connect an external USB disk when you want longer record times and quick handoff to an editor. File-based recording in common codecs helps integrate smoothly into post-production pipelines without extra transcoding.
Connectivity for Production and Broadcast
For integration into SDI environments, the HyperDeck Studio Mini includes 1 x 3G-SDI input and 2 x SDI outputs, plus 1 x HDMI type A output for local monitoring. It supports SDI rates of 270Mb, 1.5G-SDI, 3G-SDI, and 6G-SDI. Audio is carried via embedded SDI and HDMI (no analog I/O), with up to 16 channels embedded in SD/HD over SDI and up to 8 channels embedded over HDMI in QuickTime files.
Sync, Standards, and Control
Reference input and output support Tri-Sync or Black Burst, helping you lock the unit to house sync in multi-device systems. SDI compliance includes SMPTE 259M, 292M, 296M, and 425M, with SDI metadata support for HD RP 188 and closed captioning. Power over Ethernet is supported via the Ethernet connection. For updates and software control, a USB 2.0 Type-C connection is provided for software updates and HyperDeck Utility control.
