The Altman 3-Cell Ground Cyc is a multi-lamp, compartmented luminaire designed to provide an even wash of light on cycloramas from a ground row position. With three separate cells, it supports straightforward color separation across the cyc, making it a practical choice for stage and studio cyc lighting where consistent, blended coverage matters.

Optics and Coverage

Each compartment typically provides an asymmetrical distribution intended to spread light evenly across the cyclorama. Beam angles are typically 50° horizontally and 65° vertically, with field angles of 70° horizontally and 83° vertically. Lamps are on nine inch centers for consistent spacing and coverage along a ground row.

Construction and Lamping Details

Built with die-cast and sheet steel construction, the fixture is compartmented for color separation and uses porcelain recessed single contacts on 9 inch centers. Spring loaded color frame retainers help keep frames secure during use. The luminaire is U.L. and c.U.L. listed for 1000 watt lamps.

System Flexibility

The Ground Cyc family is available in one lamp through twelve lamp configurations with single to twelve circuit wiring, allowing the same platform to scale from small ground rows to larger cyc installations.
