The Dugan Model E-1A Automatic Mixing Controller helps professional audio mixers manage multiple live microphones without constantly riding individual faders. This eight-channel analog unit patches into the input insert points of an audio mixing console, making it a practical add-on for workflows that need clean, automatic mic sharing.

By detecting which microphones are active, the E-1A performs fast, transparent crossfades so you can keep attention on overall balance and intelligibility instead of chasing entrances. Its voice-controlled crossfades track unscripted dialogue, helping eliminate late upcuts and cueing mistakes while avoiding the choppy, distracting artifacts common to noise gates. This is especially useful for panel discussions, sports commentary, and productions with multiple wireless mics where smooth transitions matter.

Channels may be grouped into three independent auto mixers, allowing you to separate sets of microphones by zone, table, or talent group. The unit is half-rack size (mount two in one RU), and you can link up to eight units for up to 128 channels when productions scale beyond a single eight-channel frame.
