Kramer VM-80V 1:8 Video Distribution Amplifier

The Kramer VM-80V is a high-performance video distribution amplifier designed to split and buffer composite or SDI signals to multiple destinations. It is well-suited for AV racks, broadcast support, legacy video workflows, and any setup where you need to feed the same stable video signal to several monitors, recorders, or converters while maintaining signal integrity over longer cable runs.

Signal Distribution and Cable-Run Compensation

With 330MHz bandwidth (-3dB), the VM-80V is built to handle demanding video paths without becoming the bottleneck in your chain. Front-panel Level (Gain) and EQ (Peaking) controls help compensate for signal loss, which is especially useful when feeding multiple displays or when your outputs must travel through long coax runs.

Dual-Mode Operation for Composite/SDI or S-Video

The VM-80V can be configured as a 1:8 distribution amplifier for composite/SDI signals, or as a 1:4 DA for S-video (Y/C) applications. This flexibility makes it a practical choice for facilities supporting mixed or transitional video formats.

Connections, Switching, and Physical Specs

Inputs include 2 composite/SDI video, 1Vpp/75Ω on BNC connectors with termination switches. Outputs include 2 x4 composite/SDI video, 1Vpp/75Ω on BNC connectors. Video AC/DC coupling is internally selectable. The unit measures 21.46cm x 16.30cm x 4.36cm (8.45" x 6.42" x 1.72") (W x D x H) and weighs approximately 1.0kg (2.2lbs).
