Pathport, rack-mount, 4-ports, compression fit terminal, rear panel connectors, the NEW Pathway PWPP Pathport Rack Mount DMX Gateway is a DMX/RDM Ethernet gateway designed to centralize DMX distribution over standard networks. Connect DMX512 control devices and transport data across Ethernet to DMX512-capable end devices such as intelligent lighting fixtures, LEDs, dimmers, and more. A 24 Watt, 24 VDC auxiliary power supply is included.

DMX512, RDM, and Ethernet Distribution

The Pathport series of DMX/RDM Ethernet Gateways are the heart of DMX distribution, supporting both directions of conversion so you can integrate legacy DMX runs with modern network infrastructure. Use it to convert DMX512 to Ethernet protocol for distribution, or convert Ethernet protocol to DMX512 for end devices. Four DMX512 ports are individually configurable, making it easy to tailor each output or input to the needs of different universes, locations, or device types.

Front Panel Configuration and Clear Status

Status LEDs for each port provide instant confirmation of DMX activity and direction. The LCD display and encoder knob allow for front panel configuration and reporting of the most commonly used features, such as IP address and subnet mask, port direction, and protocol selection. The unit supports a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet network port for integration into existing show networks.

Patching, Merging, and Show Control Workflow

Advanced features include extensive protocol support, slot-by-slot patching using multiple sources, cross-fading on priority change, and signal loss behavior. Outputs can be configured as whole universes or as a custom slot-by-slot patch, and you can map up to eight control sources to each output slot with merge and/or priority options set per source. Different Ethernet protocols may be merged together and prioritized, supporting flexible control and backup workflows.

Protocol Support and RDM Capabilities

This gateway supports the following DMX-over-Ethernet sending and receiving protocols: Pathway ssACN (Secure sACN), E1.31 streaming ACN (sACN), Art-Net, Pathport Protocol, and ShowNet. It acts as an E1.20 RDM controller when used with free Pathscape configuration software or ANSI E1.33 RDMnet compliant controllers.

Installation, Power, and Physical Specs

Designed for silent, fan-less operation in installed and portable racks, the unit includes rack-mount ears and uses rear panel connectors to keep wiring clean. Input ratings include PoE Class 2 device support and a 24 to 48 VDC auxiliary power input, with 8W maximum power consumption.
