Clay Paky Xtylos
Description
These Clay Paky Xtylos moving lights show signs of wear but are in good working condition.
Designed for beam-centric stage and event lighting, the Xtylos uses an RGB laser-based system to deliver a solid, flat, saturated, ultra-concentrated beam with no visible hotspots, making it well suited for aerial effects, long-throw looks, and high-impact cueing.
Light Engine and Output Control
The tailor-made laser engine is enclosed in a sealed module within the fixture for protection in touring and production environments. The light source is rated for 10,000 hours with minimal decay. Output is controlled via a very precise 0 to 100 percent digital dimmer with 24-bit resolution, plus a fast digital stop and strobe effect for sharp hits and rhythmic chases. Linear Virtual CTO is included, and real-time colour control (when not in raw mode, CTO channel greater than 0) helps maintain consistent colour behavior.
Optics, Beam, and Effects
Beam control includes an aperture range of 1° to 7° (down to 0.5° using beam diameter reducers) and a dedicated 1° aperture beam mode for tight, punchy looks. For effects and texture, the fixture supports rotation gobo indexing (16-bit resolution) and rotating 3 prisms with indexing (8-bit resolution).
Movement, Control, and Power
For accurate positioning and repeatable programming, pan and tilt resolution is 16-bit, with 16-bit focus indexing resolution. Control is via 31 channels, suitable for detailed console programming in show environments.
Power is flexible with AC input 100 to 240V, 50/60 Hz. Input power is 400 VA at 230Vac, 50Hz. The In/Out power connection supports a maximum of 4 fixtures (1600VA). The fixture weight is 24 kg (52.13 lbs).
Safety and Reliability Features
To help protect the laser diodes and maintain stable operation, the Xtylos includes RGB colour calibration, RGB derating, and laser driver safety control logic at firmware level to switch off light output in a safe state if parameters move outside the working range (redundant with hardware-level safety).
