Control Surface and Playback Workflow
Two large high-brightness color touchscreens with an adjustable viewing angle provide fast access to palettes, cues, and programming tools. A backlit trackball with four configurable buttons supports cursor and position control, while 10 playback faders with familiar controls (Choose, Go, Pause, and Flash) are built for hands-on busking and reliable cue execution.
Connectivity, Expansion, and Integration
The console supports two external VGA/SVGA monitors (including touchscreens), giving you additional workspace for programming and playback. MIDI input and output support MIDI Show Control and MIDI Time Code for syncing lighting with other show systems. Two USB ports accommodate a printer and Wholehog III accessories, and the console offers direct connection to several standard visualization packages for pre-visualization and offline workflow.
Quiet, Rugged Design for Production Use
Custom-designed embedded electronics (not a standard computer motherboard) and virtually silent operation (no fans) make the Wholehog III well-suited for noise-sensitive venues. The precision-machined aluminum construction with a wear-resistant anodized finish is designed for easy maintenance. Desklights, feedback LEDs, and LCD backlighting are all dimmable for dark-room operation.
Storage, Audio, and Power Protection
Onboard storage includes an internal hard disk drive, ZIP drive, and re-writable CD-ROM drive. Audio features include stereo line in and out plus two internal speakers. Power-fail protection via an internal battery helps prevent data loss during an outage. The auto-ranging mains input supports 90 to 250 VAC.
