The Martin MAC Axiom Hybrid is a true all-in-one moving head fixture, combining beam and spot into one compact unit that also offers diffused wash functionality. The high-precision optical system offers exceptional contrast, both in mid-air and projection, plus a surprisingly flat field that is usually not seen with this short-arc lamp technology. With real CMYC color mixing based on the MAC Viper CMY color palette, designers get unlimited choice from subtle pastels to deep, saturated looks, making it a flexible option for concerts, corporate events, houses of worship, and touring rigs where fixture count and load-in time matter.

Optics, Output, and Beam Control

The continuous 2 to 44° zoom (no beam/spot modes) makes it easy to move from tight aerial effects to broader coverage without changing fixtures or relying on separate modes. Output is rated at 16,000 lumens wide and 14,000 lumens narrow, with up to 31,000,000 cd in a high-intensity narrow beam for strong mid-air presence. For cleaner projection and more even coverage, the built-in Beamsmoother helps create a flatter field, and the frost filter supports softer, wash-style looks.

Color, Gobos, and Effects for Live Looks

In addition to CMYC mixing, an independent 16-slot color wheel supports fast color changes and repeatable color hits. Two gobo wheels (9 rotating and 16 static) deliver super-crisp projection and high contrast on surfaces and in mid-air, with animation effects integrated into the fixed gobo wheel for movement and texture. For aerial and breakup effects, the independent 3- and 8-facet prisms include a patented dynamic prism lineator zoom effect, giving more variety in beam shaping without adding complexity at the console.

Rigging, Power, and Control Integration

Designed for efficient rigging and touring, the fixture is compact and low weight at 24.8 kg (54.7 lbs.), with a backlit LCD onboard display that auto-flips for easier access in different hanging orientations. Connectivity and control are straightforward with 5-pin XLR DMX connectors and RDM functionality. Power is via a PowerCon TRUE1 mains input connector, supporting 100 to 240 V operation, with 600 W total power consumption.
