The Production Bot Switch 8 w/ Control Surface is a dedicated live production and streaming system built around vMix workflows, combining a high-performance Windows 11 PC with hands-on switching control. Designed for multi-camera events, houses of worship, corporate streams, and mobile production, it supports up to 8 simultaneous live HD-SDI video sources with embedded audio, plus extensive media, graphics, and remote-guest inputs for complete show builds in a single platform.
Live switching, mixing, and show graphics in vMix
This system includes vMix Pro, vMix Social, and vMix Title Designer for building polished broadcasts with professional transitions and layered compositions. Each input includes 5 “Multi View” overlay channels (Mix/Effects) to combine elements like logo bugs, lower thirds, titles, and text. For finishing layers, it provides 4 downstream keyers (DSKs) with individual transitions, alpha channel support, and adjustable scaling/positioning.
For visual refinement during production, it supports real-time color correction and image processing including Deinterlace, Sharpen, Zoom, Rotate, Pan, and Crop, with effects processed in 4:4:4 32bit color space for video fidelity.
Video and audio I/O for multi-camera workflows
Video inputs support any combination of HD and SD formats, with embedded SDI audio available as 16-channel SDI embedded audio, plus compatibility with USB audio devices. Outputs include 2x 3G/HD/SD-SDI plus display connections for monitoring and multiviewer setups (2x DisplayPort 1.4, 2x HDMI 2.0, 2x DVI-D Dual-link). Audio outputs include 1/8” stereo and 2-channel SDI embedded.
For monitoring and control, the built-in audio mixer provides independent control and monitoring of audio sources with Mute, Solo, Follow (Auto Mixing), Delay, EQ, Compressor, and Gain. Multiview is supported via secondary display or HD-SDI with configurable layouts, titles, audio meters, and tally display.
Recording, streaming, replay, and remote contributions
The Switch 8 is built for simultaneous record, stream, and output to multiple formats and resolutions. Recording formats include AVI, MP4, MPEG-2, MOV, and MXF for both Program and ISO recordings, with multiple compression options. For live streaming, it supports RTMP streaming to CDNs including Twitch, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
To support modern productions, it includes NDI for multi-channel video input and output over Gigabit Ethernet using the open Network Device Interface protocol. It also includes vMix Call for bringing up to 8 remote guests into productions using only a web browser and webcam, plus integrated social media tools for live or queued insertion of Facebook, Twitter, or IRC feeds with content approval from any web-connected device. Instant Replay is built in for continuous multi-camera recording and playback.
