BrightSign 4K242 Player

The BrightSign 4K242 Player is a commercial-grade, solid-state media player for digital signage and kiosk deployments, built to decode images, audio, and video up to 3840x2160 at 60p. It is designed to drive connected displays and audio devices while also supporting control and integration through built-in and networked interfaces.

These units may show signs of heavy wear but are in good working condition.

4K Playback for Signage and Kiosk Workflows

As part of the 4K series, the 4K242 is suited for reliable 4K content playback in commercial environments where solid-state storage and dedicated signage hardware are preferred over general-purpose PCs. In addition to video output over HDMI, it supports audio output and multiple interface options that can be used for triggering, automation, and device control in interactive or scheduled signage applications.

Connectivity and Control Interfaces

The 4K242 provides a range of physical connections for networked deployments and peripheral control, including RJ45 Ethernet (POE), HDMI out, 3.5mm audio out, 3.5mm IR in/out, and DA15 GPIO. On-device controls include a GPIO service button and GPIO reset button, supporting setup and troubleshooting in the field.

Storage Expansion and Internal Connections

For media and configuration storage, the player supports SDHC/SDXC via an SD card slot and includes a MicroSD slot. It also includes internal connection options such as a SATA connector and a WiFi Module connector for compatible expansions.

Status LEDs for Quick Diagnostics

Multiple front-panel indicators help confirm power, connectivity, and activity at a glance, including status/error (red), update (yellow), power (green), SD activity (green), MicroSD presence (green), Ethernet activity (green), WiFi activity (green), and server connection (green).

Power is supplied via a 12V Molex power connector (not included).
