Featuring processing and connectivity capabilities, the Christie Spyder X80 is a powerful multi-screen windowing processor and content management solution for AV environments where many sources must be routed, scaled, and presented across multiple displays at high resolution. Engineered with direct feedback from users, we specifically built the Spyder X80 for applications that require managing a massive volume of pixels from source to display with the highest level of performance, flexibility and functionality possible.

High-Bandwidth 4K Processing and Flexible Routing

Built for mixed-format workflows, the Spyder X80 supports single-cable 4K@60Hz on every channel and can handle multiple sources and displays at once. With universal switching and cross-point hardware, it delivers extremely low latency while enabling fast switching and maximum input/output routing capability without adding additional signal latency. It also supports external matrix switching across a wide range of manufacturers, making it easier to integrate into existing signal distribution systems.

Control, Monitoring, and Workflow Tools

Spyder Studio client software enables offline editing so you can configure and program without the need of hardware, and an online editing mode lets you build and adjust preset scenes in preview without affecting what the audience is seeing. A customizable multi-viewer output provides real-time monitoring by arranging sources, display areas, program and preview in one view. The intelligent EDID Manager supports custom creation of user-defined resolutions to help maintain compatibility across varied sources and displays.

Scaling, Tiling, and Show-Ready Presentation

The Spyder X80 supports seamless management of multiple SD, HD, 4K and stereoscopic workflows simultaneously, with built-in conversion for interlaced signals, resolutions, aspect ratio and refresh rates. It also supports user-defined edge blending and tiling, plus window styling tools such as borders and drop shadows (adjustable color, width, softness, shadow offset and transparency) for polished multi-window layouts. For distribution flexibility, a 4K output can be expanded into as many as 4 individual HD streams using off-the-shelf MST technology.

Designed for demanding production use, it offers super-fast still loading for backgrounds and as source content, advanced auto-sync functionality, and user-defined color bit depth (80 megapixel bandwidth at 8-bit and 53 megapixel at 12-bit). Redundant hot swappable power supplies support higher uptime in mission-critical installations.
