Unleash your creativity with the ROBE ROBIN MegaPointe, a compact, high-output moving head fixture designed for concert, touring, theatrical, and event production where tight aerial beams and crisp projection matter. It delivers bright, sharp parallel beams, excellent gobo projection, precise movement, smooth CMY colour mixing and dimming, plus a wide range of beam splitting, wash, and shaping effects to keep looks varied from cue to cue.

Optics and beam performance

The Robe R&D team worked with Osram to provide a 470W lamp that aligns perfectly with the cutting edge optical system. This design provides a brilliant, crystal clear, razor-edged beam, adjustable from a punchy 1.8 out to a wide 42 degree zoom. Motorized zoom and focus help you move quickly between tight beam looks and wider coverage, while remote hot-spot control lets you fine-tune beam intensity distribution to suit different trim heights and throw distances.

Gobos, animation, and aerial effects

Both static and rotating (glass) gobos produce precision in-air effects or projected images with a sharp, high-contrast, flat field. For added texture and motion, the aluminium animation wheel can be used alone or combined with gobos, rotating in both directions at variable speed. The newly designed effects engine can produce 12 varying beam and ‘flower’ effects via 6 prisms placed on two wheels, giving you fast access to layered aerial looks without needing multiple fixtures.

Colour, shaping, and control

For colour workflows, the MegaPointe combines smooth CMY mixing (cyan, magenta, yellow each 0 to 100 percent) with a colour wheel featuring 13 dichroic filters plus white. Beam shaper emulation creates rectangular beam shapes that are rotatable and indexable, making it easier to frame scenic elements or add geometric looks in the air. Variable frost options (1 degree light and 5 degree medium) help soften edges when transitioning toward wash-like applications, and pre-programmed random strobe and pulse effects support impact hits and rhythmic accents.

Movement and build details

With 540 degree pan and 270 degree tilt, standard and speed movement control, and automatic pan/tilt position correction, the fixture is built for repeatable focus positions and consistent show performance. Lamp specs include the approved Osram Sirius HRI 470 W RO model (discharge short arc lamp with integrated reflector), with rated lifetime of 1,500 hours at 470W standard mode and 2,000 hours at 380W eco mode, plus automatic and remote on/off control. Physical dimensions are 640mm x 396mm x 230mm (25.2 inches x 15.6 inches x 9.1 inches), and weight is 22 kg (48.5 lbs).
