The NEW Obsidian NX1-16 Console is a portable, fully featured lighting controller built on the powerful ONYX platform. Designed for programmers who need the complete ONYX experience in a compact footprint, the NX1-16 delivers an unrestricted workflow for live events, touring, houses of worship, clubs, corporate shows, and broadcast applications.

Compact ONYX Control Surface with Hands-On Playback

Utilizing the full ONYX Operating System the NX1-16 includes a high-brightness 10.1" HD multi-touch screen and supports one additional external touch display for expanded, always-available control. For tactile operation, it features 10 full motorized playbacks with four freely assignable buttons, plus an extra playback and function key hybrid array, along with a dedicated Master Go section (Go, Pause, Snap, and Release). Four assignable parameter encoders with push function and status indication provide fast access to fixture parameters, while Virtual Keypad control helps keep common actions close at hand.

Built-In Processing and Fast, Reliable Performance

Including the latest in industrial components the NX1-16 contains a powerful Intel processor, 500 GB NVMe M.2 SSD storage and 16 GB DDR5 RAM for fast boot times and responsive operation. The quiet thermal design uses advanced copper heat pipe coolers to keep performance stable during long programming sessions and show runs. The console runs a Windows IoT Embedded Operating System, with OS installation supported via USB 3.0 storage device and compatibility with Windows USB touchscreens.

16 Universes, DMX/RDM and Network Output Options

Licensed for 16 Universes, the NX1-16 can process 16 Universes directly inside the console and provides ample connectivity for modern rigs. It includes 4x DMX/RDM Universe In/Out on 5-pin locking XLR, plus dual Gigabit Ethernet ports supporting Art-Net, sACN, and ONYX X-Net. This makes it well suited for both traditional DMX systems and network-based distribution, whether you are driving nodes, gateways, or mixed-protocol environments.

Expandable ONYX Platform Ecosystem

The NX1-16 is further expandable with the dedicated NXK keypad and the NXP motorized playback wing. A simple magnetic alignment system allows attachment on either side of the NX1-16. The keypad and playback wing are part of the ONYX platform and can be utilized with all other NX devices or ONYX on any PC system.
