Built for outdoor installs and quiet indoor use

The combination of MAC Viper XIP’s powerful lumen output and innovative patent-pending XIP water and dust ingress protection make it not only ideal for a wide range of temporary, year-round outdoor applications*, but also ensures exceptionally low-noise levels for indoor use, similar to the whisper-silent Martin MAC Encore. With an IP65 rating and a rugged design approach intended for real-world environments, it is well suited to touring, festivals, outdoor stages, and architectural or venue installs where weather exposure and reliability matter.

High-output LED engine with consistent color

Featuring Martin Professional’s proprietary tailor-made 760 W LED light engine (55 x 20 W white LEDs), the MAC Viper XIP delivers 28,000 lumens fixture output (56,000 lumens from the light engine) with a minimum LED lifetime of >50,000 hours. Its 5800 K color temperature (+/- 250 K) is tuned for natural-looking whites on performers and scenery, with the white point precisely on the black body curve without any green or magenta shift to ensure a crisp white point that naturally enhances illuminated objects. Peak luminous intensity reaches 2.4 Mcd for long-throw applications.

Optics and projection for beam-to-wash flexibility

A 150 mm front lens and a 1:9 zoom range (5.7° to 54° field angle) support tight, high-definition beams and wide coverage from the same fixture. The high resolution projection system, focus with auto tracking, and continuous 0 to 100% dimming help maintain clean edges and smooth fades across changing looks, while strobe effects and four dimming curve options provide flexible show programming.

Color, gobos, and effects for dynamic looks

For color and texture, MAC Viper XIP includes CMY color mixing, color temperature control (5,800 to 2,850 K), Virtual CTC Control (2,000 to 12,850K), and Green Magenta Shift Control for fine tuning on camera or when matching other fixtures. A color wheel adds 5 dichroic filters, including a Spectral Enhancement Filter, while two rotating gobo wheels provide 7 interchangeable gobos plus open each. A gobo animation wheel (indexing and continuous rotation with variable angle), two frost filters (Light and Heavy, fade-in), a 4-facet prism, and an iris expand options for aerial effects, breakup, and softening.

Framing, movement, and pixel-style control

The extended framing module allows individual blade control (+/- 30° across the entire beam) with +/- 83° module rotation for precise shutter cuts and repeatable shapes. Fast, wide movement ranges of 540° pan and 268° tilt support sweeping transitions and accurate repositioning. P3 videomapping of fixture color and/or intensity (6 segments) enables segmented looks and mapped effects, complemented by two ranges of pre-programmed FX for quick access to dynamic movement and color patterns.
