NEW High End Systems HPU

HPU is the hybrid processor unit for the Hog 4 family, designed to operate either as a rack-mounted console or as a DMX Processor connected to another Hog 4 family console. From a single 2U 19-inch rack mount device, one HPU can provide 64 universes of output, making it a strong fit for permanent or semi-permanent control environments where a dedicated hardware front panel is not required, such as cruise ships, theme parks, and architectural lighting installations.

Built for flexible Hog 4 workflows

With all the power of a Hog 4 console, the HPU supports both standalone and distributed system designs. In console mode, it delivers 32,768 parameters (64 universes via local processing) and can also act as a backup to any Hog 4 family console. In Processor mode, it provides 32,768 parameters (64 universes) for networked playback and processing, and can be expanded for total outputs using DMX processors (DP8K or HPU).

Connectivity, networking, and control

For reliable show and installation networking, the HPU includes dual connections for HogNet and FixtureNet, along with support for sACN and Art-Net. Local DMX connectivity is handled through 8 Neutrik XLR-5 DMX outputs, while the built-in 8 inch full color multitouch display provides on-device access when a dedicated console surface is unnecessary.

Display support and hardware essentials

Designed for modern control-room and rack environments, the HPU supports two DisplayPort monitors or touchscreens for expanded programming and monitoring. It runs the robust Hog 4 OS operating system and includes a solid-state hard drive, plus 7 USB ports for flash drives, pointing devices, and keyboards.
