Electro-Voice EVOLVE 50 Portable Column System

This system shows signs of heavy wear but is in good working condition. Included is the speaker array, subwoofer, pole, and road case.

The Electro-Voice EVOLVE 50 Portable Column System is a three component portable PA loudspeaker system powered by a 1000 W Class-D amplifier and driven by Electro-Voice's QuickSmartDSP. With wide 120° x 40° coverage and up to 127 dB max SPL, it is well-suited for mobile DJs, bands, presenters, and event production needing clear, even sound in small to mid-sized spaces.

System Design and Sound Performance

The system consists of a 15 mm wooden, ported, powered subwoofer enclosure that houses a 12” subwoofer capable of a functional frequency output down to 37 Hz. The column array and sub integrate around a 200 Hz crossover, helping keep vocals and instruments articulate while the sub handles low-frequency content.

Fast Setup, Clean Cabling

The bi-directional aluminum pole’s connection to the subwoofer is secured using a magnet, and the column array is gravity-held to the sub pole. The signal is internally routed to the components, which helps reduce external cabling and keeps setup quick and tidy for gigs, corporate events, and rentals.

Inputs and Output Routing

Connect sources through 2x XLR/TRS combo inputs, plus 3.5 mm and stereo RCA inputs, or stream via wireless Bluetooth audio input. For expanding a system, the rear panel provides both an XLR THRU output and an XLR MIX OUT output for feeding additional speakers or sending a mixed signal downstream.

Build and Portability

The sub enclosure is 15 mm plywood, the column is composite, and the pole is aluminum. Component weights are: sub 44.66 lb (20.3 kg), column 10.34 lb (4.7 kg), and pole 2.75 lb (1.25 kg). Dimensions (HxWxD) are sub 530 x 345 x 471 mm (20.9 x 13.6 x 18.5 in), column 825 x 102 x 172 mm (32.5 x 4.0 x 6.9 in), and pole 929 x 48.5 x 55 mm (36.6 x 1.9 x 2.2 in).
