NEW XBlack XB480 Hybrid

The NEW XBlack XB480 Hybrid is a 480 watt, 16,000 lumen hybrid performance moving head profile and wash light that is IP20 rated for indoor use. Using the latest generation LED engine, lens, framing system and zoom ratio combination for maximum light output and control. This rock solid workhorse fixture can be used for anything from aerial effects, tight beams, wide washes, and camera ready key light to cover any live performance needs.

Light Output and Beam Control

Built around a high-output LED engine with a minimum rated lifespan of 20,000 hours, the XB480 is designed for consistent brightness in touring rigs, installed venues, and broadcast-ready stages. A linear zoom range of 4.5° to 55° lets you move from tight, punchy looks to wide wash coverage without changing fixtures. For shaping and texture, it adds an electronic iris (5 to 100%), heavy frost for smoother field blending, and a 5-facet rotating, bi-directional prism for amplified aerial effects.

Color, CTO, and Gobo/Animation Effects

For fast, flexible color design, the XB480 includes full CMY color mixing plus a 7-color dichroic wheel for bold, repeatable color hits. Variable linear CTO adjusts color temperature from 6500K down to 2700K, making it easier to match cameras, tungsten-balanced looks, or warmer key light cues. Two gobo wheels expand the fixture’s versatility, including a rotating gobo wheel with 7 gobos (16 bit) and a static gobo wheel with 8 gobos, along with an animation wheel for motion effects.

Framing, Movement, and Dimming Performance

A full framing system provides four blades with module rotation, giving you precise shuttering for stage zones, scenic elements, and scenic masking. Movement is smooth and detailed with 16-bit pan and tilt control, offering pan of 540° or 630° and tilt of 270°. Output control is equally refined with 16-bit, 0 to 100% electronic linear dimming, plus strobe from 1 to 25 Hz with synchronized and random options.

Control, Power, and Rigging Considerations

The XB480 supports DMX and RDM, plus ArtNET (RJ45), with 34-channel (Basic) and 54-channel (Extended) modes for straightforward patching or deeper parameter access. An onboard LCD display with control panel helps with setup and addressing on site. Power is via True1, with an AC input range of 100 to 240V (50/60Hz) and max consumption of 850 watts. For thermal stability, the advanced cooling system utilizes both liquid cooling and variable speed fans.

Rated IP20 for indoor use, the fixture weighs 66.lbs (30kg) and measures 28.3” x 15.1” x 11.4” (720mm x 385mm x 290mm), helping you plan truss spacing, case sizing, and load calculations.
