The GefenToolBox 4x2 Matrix for HDMI 4K x 2K is a compact, lightweight HDMI matrix switcher that routes up to four Ultra High Definition 4K or 1080p Full HD sources to up to two Ultra HD displays. It is a practical alternative to rack-mounted matrixes when you need flexible source-to-display switching in a smaller footprint, such as conference rooms, classrooms, control stations, digital signage, and AV racks with limited space.

Video and audio performance for UHD workflows

This matrix supports resolutions up to 4K (3840 x 2160 @ 60Hz 4:2:0 or 30Hz 4:4:4) and 4K Cinema (DCI) (4096 x 2160 @ 24 or 30Hz 4:4:4). It is HDMI 2.0 compliant and HDCP 1.4 compliant, with support for 3DTV pass-through, Lip Sync pass-through, and 12-bit Deep Color (up to 1080p Full HD). For audio, it supports lossless and multichannel formats including LPCM 7.1, Dolby® TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, and DTS-HD Master AudioTM, helping preserve the full soundtrack when switching between sources.

Flexible control options and fast integration

Route each connected source to either display using the front panel push-button controls, the included IR remote, RS-232 serial control interface, or through IP using Telnet, UDP, and the built-in web server interface. Gefen FST Technology speeds up the HDCP authentication process to reduce delays when switching, and Advanced EDID Management helps simplify setup when mixing different sources and display capabilities. LED indicators on the top panel display the current routing status, FST mode, audio configuration, and EDID settings for quick at-a-glance verification.

The unit provides (4) locking HDMI Type A inputs and (2) locking HDMI Type A outputs. It also includes a Mini-USB port for field-upgradeable firmware, a DB-9 RS-232 port, and an RJ-45 Ethernet port for IP control.
