NEW ADJ Focus Flex

Compact, quick and punchy, the Focus Flex from ADJ Lighting is a versatile moving head luminaire capable of creating wash, beam and pixel effects. Designed to provide lighting designers with both flexibility and creative potential, it is ideal for event production and rental applications as well as for permanent installation in concert halls, theatres, nightclubs and churches.

RGBW Color Mixing, Virtual CMY, and Tunable White

The fixture is powered by an array of seven potent 40-Watt 4-in-1 RGBW color mixing LEDs, each of which can be controlled independently. By mixing the intensity of the primary LED colors, a huge gamut of output colors can be created to suit any mood or desired look.

For workflows that rely on CMY tools, the fixture features a convenient Virtual CMY mode, which allows control alongside native CMY color mixing fixtures using hardware/software CMY color picker/pallete tools. It also offers Virtual Foreground and Background Color Wheel control for quick, familiar access to common looks.

When clean white light is the priority, the Focus Flex provides variable color temperature output from 2700K to 10,000K. This can be accessed either via linear control or a collection of 10 convenient presets (2700, 3000, 3200, 4000, 4500, 5000, 5600, 6500, 8000 and 10,000K). All LEDs are color calibrated to ensure uniform output of fixtures from different batches.

Pixel Effects with Seven Independently Controlled LEDs

Through controlling the seven LEDs independently, the fixture can be used to generate impressive pixel-mapped effects. Built-in pixel programs (with speed and fade control) make it easy to create movement and texture on stage, on truss, or in architectural installs without complex programming.

Motorized Zoom and Fast Movement for Wash or Beam Looks

Motorized zoom allows the field angle of the Focus Flex to be altered remotely between a wide 57-degrees and narrow 6-degrees, which allows it to be used for creating both broad washes and concise beams. Its extremely quick motor movement supports high-impact aerial effects, while 16-bit fine motor control helps ensure precise positioning.

Control, DMX Modes, RDM, and Wireless DMX

A flexible fixture, the Focus Flex offers a range of DMX mode options (7 DMX Modes: 16/25/34/42/50/25 (CMY)/28 (CMY) channels), appropriate to different applications. Control options include DMX512 or internal programs, plus RDM (Remote Device Management) for remote addressing and status monitoring on compatible systems.

Onboard WiFLY EXR wireless DMX (up to 2500 ft./700 m line of sight) is built in, and an antenna is provided for use with WiFLY EXR. DMX connections are 5-pin XLR In/Out.

On-Fixture Setup, Dimming, and Firmware Updates

Customizable options include selectable LED refresh rate (900 Hz to 25K Hz) and multiple dimming modes (Standard, Stage, TV, Arch., Theatre, Stage 2, plus user-settable dim speed from 0.1s to 10s). Four dim curves (Square, Linear, Inverse Square and S-Curve) and 0-100% smooth dimming support camera work and live environments, and electronic strobe is available with various strobe speeds.

Settings are accessed through a color LCD display panel with a 6-button menu interface, located on the side panel alongside a USB port for firmware updates.
