NEW Arri M90 HS System w/ Electronic Ballast w/ ALF & DMX 1K Hz

The ARRI M90 9,000W HMI High Speed Kit is a powerful daylight system designed to fill the gap between the M40.25 and the ARRIMAX 18/12, delivering the punch of a larger source in a compact, production-friendly package. Built around the 9,000W M90 HMI Head and paired with a dedicated 6/9K high speed electronic ballast, this system is engineered for stable output and flicker-free performance for high speed shooting up to 1,000 frames per second.

MAX Technology Beam Control, Fresnel and PAR Characteristics

The M90 uses lens-less MAX technology to combine the characteristics of a Fresnel and PAR source. With a focus range of 16 - 49°, normally only achieved with supplementary lenses, the M90 performs like a traditional 12K with the compact form factor of a 6K head. In practical terms, you can move from a tighter, longer-throw beam to a broader, softer coverage without changing lens accessories, which helps keep setups fast and consistent on set.

Designed for High Speed, Long Cable Runs, and On-Set Control

The EB 6/9K High Speed Electronic Ballast with ALF and DMX has been streamlined and packed with features like CCL to compensate for power loss over long cable runs and Active Line Filter to counter electromagnetic interference. This version of the ballast allows high speed shooting of sports events, industrial applications, automotive component testing and ballistics or material testing without any concerns about flicker. For integration into larger lighting workflows, it also supports DMX on/off and 100-50% dimming control.

Lamp and Accessory Compatibility

Osram has created a 9K lamp for this power class that is nearly the same size as the 6K version allowing use of either lamp in the MAX Technology reflector and with the ballast. Since the M90 can accept either of Osram's 6K or 9K lamps, the ballast features automatic detection of both lamps and lamp heads. The M90 can also be used with 6,000 W lamps and ballasts and uses existing 6 kW cables, which can simplify compatibility when adding the head to an established ARRI daylight package.

Durability and Monitoring for Real-World Production

Innovations like Cross Cooling separates the electronics from the lamp housing, thus ensuring greater longevity of the head and lamp. There's also a low noise mode and LED indicators for input voltage, protective earth, over temperature, lamp on, detected lamp, and low noise mode as well as an illuminated on/off switch, making it easier to confirm status quickly during operation. The head includes tilt locks on both sides to hold heavy accessories, is rated to protection class IP23, and supports safe operation until 90° tilt position*.

The kit also includes a set of 4-leaf barn doors and a 50' head-to-ballast cable. The lamp is not included.
