NEW Arri M90 HMI Head

The NEW Arri M90 HMI Head is an open-faced, high-output 9,000 W fixture designed to close the gap between the M40 and the ARRIMAX 18/12. It delivers a very bright, controllable beam that is focusable from 16° up to 49°, producing a remarkably even light field with a crisp, clear shadow, useful when you need strong, clean daylight output with precise beam shaping on set.

Optical Control and Light Quality

The M90 uses lens-less MAX Technology and is engineered for superior light quality. With its focus range of 16° to 49°, it can move from a tighter punch to broader coverage without swapping lenses, helping you work faster when adjusting for changing set sizes, throw distances, or diffusion and frame setups.

Lamp Options and Practical Rigging

ARRI technology partner Osram developed a new 9,000 W lamp for the M90, which is stable at 1,000 Hz and almost as small as the 6,000 W lamp that can alternatively be used. This allowed ARRI to design the M90 in a very compact housing, barely larger than the ARRISUN 60. The M90 can also be used with 6,000 W lamps and ballasts, and it uses existing 6 kW cables, which can simplify inventory and speed up deployment for crews already built around ARRI 6 kW infrastructure.

Ballast and Control Integration

Accompanying the M90 is a new ballast, the EB 6/9, available in standard and high speed versions. Like other recent ballasts from ARRI, it features CCL (Compensation for Cable Loss) technology and the power-saving ALF (Active Line Filter). The EB 6/9 is DMX compatible and no bigger than ARRI's existing EB 6000 Baby ballast. ETL certified versions of EB 6/9 are available.

On-Set Handling and Protection

Cross-cooling allows safe operation until 90° tilt position*, and tilt locks on both sides help hold heavy accessories securely. Easy maintenance and protection class IP23 support reliable day-to-day use in demanding production environments.
