NEW Arri M8 HMI Head

The ARRI M8 HMI Head is the latest and smallest lighting fixture in ARRI’s highly successful M-Series of HMI lampheads, designed for high-output location and studio lighting in a compact, mobile form factor. Like the rest of the M-Series, the M8 is equipped with MAX Technology, a unique, patented reflector design that unifies the advantages of a Fresnel and a PAR fixture.

Its open face design and the unrivalled efficiency of the MAX reflector make the M8 exceptionally bright. The light output produced by its 800 W lamp comes close to the output from a 1,200 W Fresnel or PAR (with lens), helping crews achieve big-source punch without stepping up to a larger head. The fixture focuses from 15° to 62° by turning the focus knob, delivering a remarkably even light field and crisp, clear shadow. By eliminating the need for bulky, easily breakable spread lenses, the M8 helps speed up workflows on set and reduces accessory changes.

Light Control and On-Set Handling

Lensless MAX Technology keeps the toolset straightforward for everyday production, with fast beam shaping and fewer fragile components to manage during load-ins and company moves. Cross cooling supports safe operation even at 90° tilt, and robust tilt locks are designed to hold heavy accessories stable.

Compatibility and System Integration

The M8 is built to integrate into established ARRI kits. It uses existing 245 mm / 230 mm accessories and Chimera of ARRI TRUE BLUE D12, and it is compatible with existing 575 / 1,200 / 1,800 W cables. Features such as Compensation for Cable Loss (CCL) help maintain consistent performance over longer cable runs, and there is a possibility to operate at 1,000 Hz for high-speed shooting applications.
