NEW Lightronics AS42D Portable Dimmer

The NEW Lightronics AS42D Portable Dimmer is a compact, portable 4 channel dimmer pack built for controlling stage and event lighting from a console or controller. With 1200 Watts per channel and a 4800 Watts maximum total load, it is well-suited for small to mid-sized rigs that need dependable, rack-free dimming with standard 120V power.

Power and Load Handling

The AS42D has a maximum capacity of 1200 Watts per channel and maximum total load capacity of 4800 Watts. It is supplied with 2 input power cord stubs which may be connected to 2 different 120 VAC power phases, helping you distribute load across circuits when available. Output connections are standard Edison outputs, and the unit includes fuses for protection and serviceability.

Control Protocols and Lighting Compatibility

The unit operates using the USITT DMX-512 protocol or an industry standard three wire multiplex protocol (DMX-512 & LMX-128), making it easy to integrate with many common lighting consoles and control systems. For fixtures that should not be dimmed, the AS42D may be operated in a relay (non-dim) mode, switchable as needed.

Built-In Chases for Simple Standalone Looks

When you need quick movement or pattern effects without programming a console, the unit will also function as a chaser and has several preset chase patterns which may be used, including 8 built in chases. This is useful for basic architectural, DJ, and event looks where simple, repeatable patterns are preferred.
