The ETC Ion 6000 is a compact lighting control console that brings the ease, power, and operational style of the Eos family to space-challenged environments and small venues. With a 19-inch-wide footprint, it is designed for tight control booths and portable rigs, while still providing fully integrated control of conventional and moving lights.

Hands-On Programming and Playback Control

Ion packs a generous programming keypad, dedicated encoders for non-intensity parameter control, and an integral LCD for softkeys and parameter access. For confident show operation, it includes a dedicated grand master, a blackout button, and a master split fader, plus a dedicated master playback fader pair for hands-on cueing.

Expandable Faders and Flexible Viewing

For more hands on control, Ion supports up to six USB fader wings (the 1x20, 2x10 and 2x20) for a total of 300 additional submasters with paging controls. The desk can support one or two external high-resolution DVI monitors, which can also be touchscreens, making it easier to build efficient layouts for programming, playback, and live adjustments.

Show Control, Networking, and Output Options

Built for modern workflows, Ion supports client/server networking and synchronized backup, with ETCNet2 and Net3 native support. It includes 2 x DMX512 outputs (RDM ready) and offers optional ArtNet and Avab UDP. Additional show integration includes MIDI In/Out (with additional time code functions via external gateways), contact closure triggers, audio in/out, and phone remote control.

Workflow Tools and Compatibility

Ion provides 999 cue lists, 200 active playbacks, 1000 presets, effects and macros, and 4 x 1000 palettes (Intensity, Focus, Color, Beam) to keep programming organized and repeatable. Live and blind views include channel summary or table views (user configurable) and blind spreadsheet views. It supports offline programming on PC (Windows 7) and native on Macintosh (Intel), with data import from ETC Obsession, Express/ion, Emphasis, Congo and Strand show files via ASCII, plus show file compatibility with Eos and Element.

Connectivity, Storage, and Physical Specs

Ion includes hard disk memory and USB-compatible external storage, along with a 5 multipurpose USB bus for peripherals such as pointing devices, printer, mouse, keyboard, touchscreens, and flash drives. Physical specs include dimensions of 5.2" x 17.9" x 18.2" and a weight of 20.35 lbs.
