NEW Doug Fleenor DMX A/B Switch Box, Four Universe

Doug Fleenor Design makes a series of selector switches specifically designed to switch DMX512 signals. Originally designed to switch between primary and backup consoles, these switches are often used to select from two (or more) input locations. Model: SW4 switches four DMX512 universes (four A inputs, four B inputs, four outputs), making it a straightforward way to route multiple DMX lines from a rack or dimmer room without repatching.

Designed for Reliable DMX A/B Selection

Doug Fleenor Design Switch Boxes consist of a high reliability switch (rocker or rotary) wired to Neutrik five pin gold plated XLR style connectors (three pin or terminal block optional). The units are housed in metal enclosures of appropriate size and are rack mountable (with optional rack ears). This is a manual, hardware-based DMX selector, so it is well-suited to applications where you want a simple, immediate A/B changeover between consoles, wall stations, or alternate DMX feed points.

Signal Switching Details and Connectivity

The standard units switch the Data+ and Data- lines, which are pins 2 and 3 on DMX512. Custom units can switch any or all contacts. For installations that require different termination or wiring practices, three-pin or terminal block options are available, and custom “remote switch” units using relays in place of the manual switch are also available.
